What is Mediawiki?

A Wiki is a web application that allows users to create and edit Web Page content using a Web Browser.The term Wiki also refers to the collaborative software used to create such a website, also known as Wiki Software. Wiki Software is usually implemented as a script that runs on a web server with the Wiki content stored in a relational database management system such as MySQL.

How does Mediawiki work?

This wiki holds or references everything about Blender, a graphics animation and video production program
Semantic MediaWiki introduces some additional markup into the wiki-text which allows users to add "semantic annotations" to the wiki. While this first appears to make things more complex, it can also greatly simplify the structure of the wiki, help users to find more information in less time, and improve the overall quality and consistency of the wiki.
